There are now many different virtual casinos that you can enjoy around the Internet. Many people enjoy the different games that you can play and this can include favorites that you would find in a real casino such as the slot machine games that are very popular, as well as other games that you can play against other people such as virtual video poker and roulette.
Many people are seeing the benefits that can be achieved when playing on online casinos and these websites are now offering individuals the ability to earn passive incomes, as well as full-time incomes from the comfort of their own home. You can also play on these sites for pretend money as well as real money and this can be a good advantage if you want to practice on the games before you choose to use real money.
Yet another reason to avoid RTG powered Online Casinos
Yet another reason to avoid RTG powered Online CasinosAvoid Rogue Casinos like Jackpot Capital We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, while Real Time Gaming powered online casinos may seem innovative and offer some great games, beware of playing here. This warning has been echoed in recent events wherein a slots player was playing the Spirit of Incas slot and hit a whopping $1,684,999.60 jackpot. Unlike the various other jackpot winners at other reputable online casino properties, this story did not have a happy ending. The player in question subsequently found that their account was locked by the operator, Jackpot Capital. After querying this a week later the account was unlocked and the life-changing sum reflected in the balance. As the withdrawal process was initiated, suddenly the balance of more than $1 million just disappeared. The player was then approached by the operator who offered them a compensatory payment of $1,000 or the option to have their June deposits refunded due to the fact that the jackpot payment had been revoked due to a technician’s error that had triggered what was referred to as a “false jackpot“. A futile dialogue ensued before the matter was published on the player forums which then prompted a response from RTG’s parent company Hastings International BV which stated that there were two servers in play – a quality assurance “test” server and an operational server. According to the Hastings representative the technician was carrying out routine checks on the progressive jackpots which trigger when a set amount is reached when he accidently used the operational server, manually increasing the Spirit of Inca slot’s jackpot over the trigger limit in order to run the test. This apparently happened to coincide with the players game play and resulted in a false win. The Hastings International representative then assured players that measures were already in place to prevent such an error from occurring again. They also noted that Jackpot Capital is protected in this matter in the casino Terms and Conditions which state that “all pays and wins are void in the event of a technical flaw“. Obviously this is of no consolation to the player who believed that their life had changed for ever with a million dollar win and this is simply unacceptable. So be warned – RTG casinos have been blacklisted and should be avoided. And if you’re ever in about playing at a casino, find out how to judge the credibility of an online casino here.
Alan Snel – Park near MGM Arena brings nature back to the Strip
Alan Snel – Park near MGM Arena brings nature back to the StripIt might not be drawing all the publicity as its neighboring arena project on the Strip, but the new park under construction next to New York-New York Hotel & Casino that will lead people from the Strip to the $375 million arena is showing its first green signs.Mature trees such as acacia, mesquite and palo verde, landscaping including native and desert-adaptive plants and planters made from local-quarried sandstone are being installed for the “microclimate” in the 5.5-acre park.Called the Park, the new area leads to a plaza and, then, the 20,000-seat arena being built by MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG).The arena, park and plaza are scheduled to open in April. AEG and MGM Resorts are partnering on the arena and plaza, and MGM is building the park by itself. MGM Resorts is spending $100 million on the park, including costs for the New York-New York and Monte Carlo Resort and Casino plaza renovations, while MGM and AEG are sharing the cost for the new plaza serving the arena. The park’s trees, shade structures and misting system being built are expected to lower temperatures by 10 degrees and offer a cool refuge from life on the Strip, said Don Thrasher, president of Park District Holdings LLC, an MGM Resorts International subsidiary. The park entrance near the Shake Shack restaurant at New York-New York is the main pedestrian entry to the MGM-AEG arena for people walking along Las Vegas Boulevard. Passing foot traffic is 30,000 daily, Thrasher said this week.Park visitors will stroll about 800 feet on a paved walkway made from 2-feet-by-2-feet marble cobblestones, with various patterns and colors, before reaching the 75,000-square-foot plaza. The park runs along New York-New York’s northern side and will include five indoor-outdoor food and beverage outlets linked to New York-New York. MGM Resorts will own two of the food places, national brands will run two others and a local group will manage the fifth food spot, Thrasher said. The park will include eight fixed kiosks, too, he said.In all, about 200 trees are being planted through the park, along the plaza perimeter and a gentle-curving road that will lead from the Strip to Monte Carlo. The road, formerly Rue de Monte Carlo, is now called Park Avenue and was realigned to include the gentle curves. The park will have no grass, but crews are installing native landscape that can cope with the region’s desert climate. The plaza of just less than 2 acres will lead to the front of the arena, which is already adorned with glass. The arena is expected to host more than 100 annual events such as boxing matches, concerts, basketball games and Ultimate Fighting Championship shows. It will also host a National Hockey League team if the NHL approves prospective owner Bill Foley’s bid for a new franchise. A new NHL team could play as early as the 2017-18 season.Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
Howard Stutz – Inside Gaming: R&R's D.C. division to oversee MGM National Harbor marketing
Howard Stutz – Inside Gaming: R&R’s D.C. division to oversee MGM National Harbor marketing“What happens in D.C., stays in D.C.,” probably won’t fly.Las Vegas-based marketing firm R&R Partners will play a role in launching the $1.3 billion MGM National Harbor development, a resort complex under construction across the Potomac River from the nation’s capitol. The contract to oversee brand marketing efforts for the project, which will be operated by Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International, was awarded to R&R Resources+. The firm is headed by Steven Horsford, who represented Nevada’s Fourth Congressional District before losing his re-election bid last fall. R&R Partners is a minority owner of R&R Resources+, which earned the contract through its status as an independently owned Minority Business Enterprise.R&R Resources+ will focus on diversity marketing, corporate social responsibility and workforce strategy for the hotel-casino, which is part of the National Harbor development in Prince George’s County, Md. The MGM project is expected to open late next year. For politically-connected R&R Partners, best known for its work with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and developers of the well-known Las Vegas slogan, “What happens here, stays here,” MGM National Harbor provides the firm with a showpiece project outside its home market.”It’s going to take a sustained marketing effort that’s customized to the area,” said R&R Partners CEO Billy Vassiliadis. “It’s a great project for Steven and his team as well as a being a great opportunity for MGM.”Vassiliadis said a goal of the R&R’s Capitol Hill office is to find clients outside the traditional political spectrum.”There is a great story here with this project and how it is being viewed within the Maryland community,” Vassiliadis said.MGM National Harbor is attached to the 150-acre National Harbor development, a mixed-used retail, dining, residential and hotel complex built by the Peterson Cos. of Fairfax, Va. The site once housed a rock and gravel quarry along the Potomac River.More than 5,000 people work in National Harbor, and the location draws 8 million to 10 million annual visitors. The 2,000-room Gaylord National has nearly 500,000 square feet of meeting space. The development has a water taxi service that ferries visitors to and from the National Mall in Washington; historic Alexandria, Va.; Georgetown; and Washington Nationals baseball games.Analysts have touted the earnings potential of MGM National Harbor, which sits on a quarter-mile-long, 23-acre site along Interstate 95. It will house a 125,000 square-foot casino, a 24-story, 308-room hotel tower, retail, restaurants, a spa and convention and meeting space.Stifel Nicolaus Capital Markets gaming analyst Steve Wieczynski said the resort has the potential to be one of the top-producing regional gaming facilities in the United States. He predicted MGM National Harbor will produce annual cash flow of $175 million to $250 million. The region’s gaming environment is competitive. The northern Virginia area is filled with potentially lucrative gaming customers. Those players travel to Atlantic City, or head to casinos in West Virginia (Penn National Gaming’s Charlestown Races), or Baltimore (Cordish Cos.’ Maryland Live! and Caesars Entertainment Corp.’s Horseshoe Casino Baltimore). That’s one reason MGM National President Lorenzo Creighton wanted a firm with “strong expertise in the hospitality and gaming industries, as well as deep market knowledge and extensive relationships in the Greater Washington, D.C. area, all of which are assets to our business.”Before getting elected to Congress in 2012, Horsford, a Democrat, spent 10 years as the CEO of the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas, Nevada largest workforce agency, which trained thousands for workers for hotel-casino industry.Horseford said MGM’s well-established commitment to a diverse workforce will be well-received in Prince George’s County.”Throughout my career, I have supported this philosophy, that diversity and equal opportunity are critical to a thriving marketplace,” Horsford said. “It’s gratifying to find myself back where it all started.”Horsford began his career with R&R, working for the company’s government affairs team in Las Vegas and Carson City.MGM National Harbor is expected to open by the end of 2016 or early 2017.Copyright GamingWire. John Robison – Ask the Slot Expert: Can casinos change slot paybacks electronically?
John Robison – Ask the Slot Expert: Can casinos change slot paybacks electronically?Your article in American Casino Guide mentioned that the slot managers would order chips to change the win rate on their machines. With electronic machines in place, I would think that win rate adjustments could be changed electronically rather than by ordering specific chips to control the machine. Is this by law that the machine producer must be involved in such changes? It would appear that the electronic adjustment would allow more flexibility to the slot managers. Many aspects of slot technology on the slot floor trail behind what can be done because security measures have to be devised and slot regulators have to approve the new technology. In the early days of computer-controlled slots, the virtual reel layout table was stored on a chip. If the casino wanted to change the long-term payback on a machine, it had to order the new layout from the manufacturer and replace that chip in the machine. Depending on the jurisdiction, a slot technician at the casino could make the change, or a technician could make the change while a representative from the casino control commission observed, or someone from the commission had to make the change. And in some jurisdictions, changes were not even allowed. Every time you open up the logic drawer in a slot machine and monkey around with the components in it, you run the risk of breaking something. As a result, casinos rarely changed the long-term paybacks on the machines on their slot floor. In Las Vegas, casinos can make this change themselves. You may have noticed the collection of licenses on display at the cage. Casinos in Las Vegas have distributor and manufacturer licenses, in addition to their operator licenses. They still have to report the change to the state. In the late 1990s, regulators got more comfortable with storing game program data on other forms of non-volatile memory (e.g., compact disc). Changing long-term paybacks by changing a physical component in the machine is the most secure way of making the change. Many years ago, some slot technicians cheated their casinos by using a configuration menu on a dollar machine to change the denomination to pennies. A confederate would then insert a dollar bill, get 100 credits, and cash out 100 dollar tokens — it was many years ago. As a result, regulators at the time required denomination changes to require chip changes. In the 2000s, with the expansion of server-based gaming in Native American casinos and enhanced communications between gaming machines and servers, gaming commissions worked on regulations to allow game program data to be sent from a central server down to the machines, eliminating the need to visit each machine and change some component in it. Downloadable games do give slot managers more flexibility, but the managers still have to acquire the different payback programs from the slot manufacturers. And then those pesky regulators come into play. No jurisdiction will allow a casino to make frequent (e.g., day/night, weekday/weekend, holiday) changes to the long-term paybacks on its machines. In a sense, slot manufacturers are involved in long-term payback changes by law. The reel layouts for each long-term payback available for a machine are their intellectual property. I am going to Las Vegas in August. What are the best slot machines to play? Where is the best place to play? This is like the question of whether one should pay off a mortgage. There’s no one answer and what’s right for one person may not be right for another. The best slot machines to play are the ones you have the most fun playing. That said, be aware that the Wide Area Progressive slots like Megabucks have lower long-term paybacks than other machines. The best place to play is the casino you like playing in best. Locals casinos in Las Vegas usually have better-paying slots than strip casinos, but if you like hopping from one casino to another, shopping at the malls attached to the casinos, eating at restaurants associated with famous chefs and watching a volcano erupt, then you’ll be happier staying on the strip. Paddy Power casino has €5 free for you
Paddy Power casino has €5 free for youBy mr-casino on 2015-06-29 16:03:58 There are many online casinos available to Irish casino players and some of them are large and some of them are small but probably the best known of them all is Paddy Power casino. Paddy Power casino is of course part of the very large online gambling group Paddy Power and despite probably being better known for the sports gambling side the online casino offering is excellent. If you are completely new to Paddy Power casino there is a special bonus available at the moment which is a free €5 (or £5 if you are one of our UK readers) and you don’t even need to make a deposit so all you need to do is create an account and accept the bonus and play. It is however quite difficult to turn this casino bonus into cash as you will need to stake the €5 50 times which is not terribly competitive with other online casinos but then it is for free. Paddy Power casino also has a more usual first deposit match bonus which means that they will match your first deposit of up to €300 to the tune of 100% thus doubling the money you have to play some of the casino games and in this case in order to turn that into cash you will need to stake the bonus plus your deposit 20 times which is equivalent to 40 times the bonus and only certain casino games apply. These bonuses are also available to those who already have an account with Paddy Power but have never played at the online casino. As stated many times however just receiving a joining bonus from an online casino should not be the only reason for joining that particular online casino as your continued enjoyment of the entertainment is much more important and from that point of view Paddy Power casino has a very wide choice of casino games and being Paddy Power you can rest assured that they are correctly licensed and safe to use.
Betfred Posts Almost £2b in Online Betting Revenue Over 18-Month Period
Betfred Posts Almost £2b in Online Betting Revenue Over 18-Month PeriodBetFred enjoys strong results for 18-month period ending on September 2014. United Kingdom gaming company Betfred have announced a staggering revenue of £1.9 billion during the period of 18 months that ended on 28th September 2014. Since its last public announcement of figures, the UK operator went on to change the date of its fiscal year, meaning the 18-month period has been compared to the previous 12-month interval. But, seeing as Betfred’s online turnover had been £1.1 billion for the previous fiscal year, the latest figure corresponds to a 15% increase on pro-rata basis. Total Turnover is £13.3 Billion The famous sports betting operator houses just short of 1,400 retail betting shops, and counting both the offline and online channels, the company revealed the total turnover was £13.3 billion, as opposed to the £8 billion turnover in the previous 12-month interval. This is enough to suggest that the company has enjoyed some strong results over the last year and a half, moving up in what is a very competitive online betting market. Considering that BetFred is a privately owned firm, they are not required to share all the business information with the public, but the data they did disclose clearly suggest the company is moving in the right direction. The revenue climbed from £362m to £593m, whereas earnings increased from £69.2m to £101.9m. The result becomes even more impressive when we take into account that Betfred lost some £3 million on the Australian mobile betting project that closed shortly after it launched in 2014. The company, controlled by brothers Fred and Peter Done, also saw significant improvements in their Tote business, that hadn’t performed up to expectations during the previous fiscal year. Betfred Makes £18.6 Million in Levy Payments As required by law, Betfred made £18.6 million in Levy payments during said 18-month period, while making another £19.1 in direct contributions to racing in the UK. The company paid £158.7m in taxes over the year and a half interval, whereas its net debt decreased from £213m to £145m. Betfred CEO John Haddock had plenty of reason to celebrate, with the betting firm recording some very good results in spite of “increased taxation, regulation and a very competitive market place.” The Warrington-based bookmaker faces fresh challenges to keep its position as one of the leading UK gaming operators, but aforementioned results will certainly provide an important impetus for the years to come.
