Yet another reason to avoid RTG powered Online Casinos

Yet another reason to avoid RTG powered Online Casinos
Yet another reason to avoid RTG powered Online CasinosAvoid Rogue Casinos like Jackpot Capital We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, while Real Time Gaming powered online casinos may seem innovative and offer some great games, beware of playing here. This warning has been echoed in recent events wherein a slots player was playing the Spirit of Incas slot and hit a whopping $1,684,999.60 jackpot. Unlike the various other jackpot winners at other reputable online casino properties, this story did not have a happy ending. The player in question subsequently found that their account was locked by the operator, Jackpot Capital. After querying this a week later the account was unlocked and the life-changing sum reflected in the balance. As the withdrawal process was initiated, suddenly the balance of more than $1 million just disappeared. The player was then approached by the operator who offered them a compensatory payment of $1,000 or the option to have their June deposits refunded due to the fact that the jackpot payment had been revoked due to a technician’s error that had triggered what was referred to as a “false jackpot“. A futile dialogue ensued before the matter was published on the player forums which then prompted a response from RTG’s parent company Hastings International BV which stated that there were two servers in play – a quality assurance “test” server and an operational server. According to the Hastings representative the technician was carrying out routine checks on the progressive jackpots which trigger when a set amount is reached when he accidently used the operational server, manually increasing the Spirit of Inca slot’s jackpot over the trigger limit in order to run the test. This apparently happened to coincide with the players game play and resulted in a false win. The Hastings International representative then assured players that measures were already in place to prevent such an error from occurring again. They also noted that Jackpot Capital is protected in this matter in the casino Terms and Conditions which state that “all pays and wins are void in the event of a technical flaw“. Obviously this is of no consolation to the player who believed that their life had changed for ever with a million dollar win and this is simply unacceptable. So be warned – RTG casinos have been blacklisted and should be avoided. And if you’re ever in about playing at a casino, find out how to judge the credibility of an online casino here.

Paddy Power casino has €5 free for you

Paddy Power casino has €5 free for you
Paddy Power casino has €5 free for youBy mr-casino on 2015-06-29 16:03:58 There are many online casinos available to Irish casino players and some of them are large and some of them are small but probably the best known of them all is Paddy Power casino. Paddy Power casino is of course part of the very large online gambling group Paddy Power and despite probably being better known for the sports gambling side the online casino offering is excellent. If you are completely new to Paddy Power casino there is a special bonus available at the moment which is a free €5 (or £5 if you are one of our UK readers) and you don’t even need to make a deposit so all you need to do is create an account and accept the bonus and play. It is however quite difficult to turn this casino bonus into cash as you will need to stake the €5 50 times which is not terribly competitive with other online casinos but then it is for free. Paddy Power casino also has a more usual first deposit match bonus which means that they will match your first deposit of up to €300 to the tune of 100% thus doubling the money you have to play some of the casino games and in this case in order to turn that into cash you will need to stake the bonus plus your deposit 20 times which is equivalent to 40 times the bonus and only certain casino games apply. These bonuses are also available to those who already have an account with Paddy Power but have never played at the online casino. As stated many times however just receiving a joining bonus from an online casino should not be the only reason for joining that particular online casino as your continued enjoyment of the entertainment is much more important and from that point of view Paddy Power casino has a very wide choice of casino games and being Paddy Power you can rest assured that they are correctly licensed and safe to use.

Apple Starts Reinstalling Gambling Apps on Its Swedish Store

Apple Starts Reinstalling Gambling Apps on Its Swedish Store
Apple Starts Reinstalling Gambling Apps on Its Swedish Store Several gambling apps have been already reinstalled in Apple’s Swedish App Store. Shortly after Apple had to remove all gambling apps from its Swedish App Store, the company has started reinstalling them back. In February, 2015, the Swedish Gambling Authority (Lotteriinspektionen) reportedly made a legal complaint claiming that the gambling apps featured on Apple’s App Store for Sweden failed to comply with certain terms and conditions which makes them illegal. After the official complaint was made approximately 40 mobile casino apps including the ones by Unibet, Bet365, Betsson, Betfair and William Hill have been removed from the Swedish App Store. Nevertheless, in April the Authority has withdrawn its complaint and PokerStars and Unibet apps have been already reinstalled. According to some sources, the gaming regulator had received a letter in which was stated that online gambling operators had failed to meet particular terms when it comes to offering gaming services and therefore their mobile applications should be considered illegal. The main problem was that unlicensed operators were supposedly targeting players located in Sweden. Nevertheless, after taking everything into account, the Swedish Gaming Authority decided to allow Apple to reinstall the mobile casino apps. Swedish Association of Online Gambling Operators Happy with the Decision The Swedish Association of Online Gambling Operators (Branschföreningen för Onlinespel) was one of the first groups to express their concerns and critic the move made by the Swedish Gambling Authority. However, the latest events made the group happy with the regulator’s decision. The General Secretary of the Association, Gustaf Hoffstedt, said that there are no laws that prohibit foreign gambling operators that hold EU licences to make their mobile casino apps available on the Internet. Additionally, he pointed out that the current EU law forbids Sweden to discriminate gambling companies based in any of the member states of the Union. Hoffstedt didn’t fail to remind that the Swedish Gambling Authority to forget using tricks like this and focus all of its attention on making an optimised and up to date licensing system that would meet the expectations of the Swedish government. He finished by highlighting the importance of having all interested parties working together and coming up with the best possible solution. Apple Wasn’t Requested to Remove the Gambling Apps Even though the situation was resolved positively for Apple, the Swedish Gambling Authority made some comments claiming that it never made formal complaints against the technology giant Apple or its offer in the Swedish App Store. According to the regulating body, the company based in the United States had decided to make the move of removing the gambling apps without being asked to do so by the Authority. If that is true, turns out that Apple was trying to avoid having any issues with the Swedish Gambling Authority once the concerns about offering unlicensed gaming products to Swedish citizen have arisen. Nevertheless, it is easy to understand Apple’s reaction since the Lotterriinspektionen throughout 2014 made several public statements that it won’t tolerate any advertising channels for unregulated gaming operators that target Swedes. Additionally, the Authority also threatened to fine those who help these operators reach Swedish gamblers.

Howard Stutz – Analysts thought Macau’s first-ever annual dip could have been worse

Howard Stutz – Analysts thought Macau’s first-ever annual dip could have been worse
Howard Stutz – Analysts thought Macau’s first-ever annual dip could have been worse Macau’s first-ever annual gaming revenue decline wasn’t a surprise although analysts worried for months the market would suffer an even larger decrease than its 2.6 percent dip in 2014.The worry is now about 2015 and what effect continued softness in the world’s largest gambling enclave will have on Nevada casino operators.“We anticipate a slew of negative revisions to consensus market gross gaming revenue forecasts,” Deutsche Bank AG gaming analyst Carlo Santarelli told investors Friday. The Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau said Friday Macau’s 35 large and small casinos collected $44.1 billion from gamblers in all 2014, marking the first time revenue fell on a year-over-year basis since American companies began operating in the Chinese Special Administrative Region in 2003.In December, gaming revenue fell 30.4 percent to $2.9 billion, Macau’s largest-ever single month decline and the seventh straight monthly decrease.MGM Resorts International, Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Wynn Resorts, Limited all operate casinos in Macau and are expanding their holdings.Macau has been nose diving since June and analysts expect the trend to continue into the first three months of 2015.The lucrative Chinese New Year holiday falls entirely in February this year, rather than straddling the first two months, as it did in 2014. Most analysts expect January’s gaming revenue to be off anywhere from 15 percent to the high-20 percent range.“All-in we would expect first quarter 2015 gross gaming revenue to decline in the low-to-mid 20 percent range,” said Union Gaming Group analyst Grant Govertsen, who is based in Macau. “This forecast largely assumes that there is no material change in either mass-market or VIP trends.”CAMPAIGN AGAINST CORRUPTIONMuch of Macau’s decline has been the result of the sourness in China’s economy and a crackdown on corruption by the Chinese government that is forcing high rollers to avoid the market. In June, wagering on the World Cup soccer tournament took away the attention of high rollers. The largest factor has been a campaign against extravagance and corruption initiated by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The move has targeted junket operators who bring high-end business into the private gambling salons inside Macau casinos. Many of the junket operators have alleged associations with Chinese organized crime triads.According to Reuters, the crackdown has cost Macau casinos $58 billion in market value over the past six months.Xi visited Macau last month to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Macau’s handover to Chine by Portugal. That event also slowed visitation. After the president’s visit, Macau gaming regulators circulated a notice to junket operators, stipulating that promoters must ensure their clients have no criminal records before allowing them to open accounts. The rule became effective on Thursday.Wells Fargo Securities gaming analyst Cameron McKnight said the rule follows another mid-December decision in which Macau gaming authorities would be given access to review all transfers of money through China’s UnionPay bank payment cards.“We believe that this new regulation is long term in nature, and is likely designed to aid China’s Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau’s recently announced efforts to circumvent illicit cross-border fund transfers,” McKnight said.Another factor hurting Macau were political protest this past year in Hong Kong against the Chinese government.Govertsen said the protests have since died down, but had a more “profound impact” on visitation than most analysts expected.Friday’s news was a factor in the stock price declines of MGM Resorts, Las Vegas Sands and Wynn.MGM fell 36 cents, or 1.68 percent, to close at $21.02. Las Vegas Sands was off $1.86, or 3.2 percent, to close at $56.30. Both companies are traded on the New York Stock Exchange.Wynn Resorts, traded on the Nasdaq, fell $1.87, or 1.26 percent, to close at $146.89.STILL OUTRANKING NEVADAMacau still took in more than seven times the Strip’s annual gaming revenue and far outranks both Nevada and Singapore as the would’s largest gaming revenue-producing market. But the declines this year have been staggering. The last four months of 2014 saw double-digit decreases, including a record 23.2 percent dip in October, which stood until December.Las Vegas Sands and Wynn Resorts rely on Macau for the vast majority of their quarterly earnings. Both companies, as well as MGM Resorts, spun off their Macau holdings into separate publicly traded companies on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The three Nevada gaming companies are moving forward with new developments on Macau’s Cotai Strip region: Las Vegas Sands’ $2.7 billion The Parisian Macao, Wynn’s $4 billion Wynn Macau Palace and the $2.9 billion MGM Macau Cotai.Other Macau casino operators have Cotai projects under development, including Hong Kong-based Galaxy Entertainment Group’s expansion of the Galaxy Macau resort and Melco’s Macau Studio City complex. Most observers predict the current Macau downturn will reverse itself sometime this year.Macau is the only place in China where casino gambling is legal. China ended billionaire Stanley Ho’s casino monopoly in 2001.The Beijing government wants Macau to diversify its economy beyond gambling. New casinos are required to increase their nongaming amenities, such as retail, dining and entertainment.Copyright GamingWire. All rights reserved.
